The Librarian's Role

The role of librarian has completely changed in the last several years, and will continue to adapt as information needs grow. No longer is the elementary librarian that littleold lady who checks out books all day long. Instead, we are a vital part of the education process. When your child comes to the library, I’ll be teaching skills that are outlined by the state of Texas, in all subjects. In addition, I teach students how to access and evaluate information in all formats. Through it all, I’ll attempt to instill the children with a deep love of reading. All this, and I’ll still be checking out books!

Protect free access to knowledge. Honor the past and create the future.
